Birds of a feather flocked together on the weekend (May 19-20) when the UBC Thunderbirds brought their Best in THE West football camp to Woodcote Park in Courtenay.

“It was a great camp this past weekend, attended by 67 athletes from as far south as Victoria,” said Comox Valley Raiders Youth Football vice-president Pat Pidsosny.

“UBC assistant coach Paul Orazietti and the UBC coaching staff have asked Raiders Football to host the camp again next year,” Pidsosny added.

“We would like to thank all the volunteers, especially Carrie Gaudet, for their hard work and efforts to once again put on what can only be called a success. We would also like to thank our sponsors for their contributions: The Real Canadian Superstore, Quality Foods, TC Valley Collision, Fluid Bar and Grill, and UBC Athletics.”

The next event on Raiders’ football calendar is a quarterback mini-camp on June 5 featuring CFL Hall of Famer and TSN football analyst Matt Dunigan.

This camp is open to all quarterbacks ages 11-17 from all communities. For more information, contact Pidsosny at 250-792-3873.
