Playoff needed to settle Bear Mountain men’s title

Langford course sees drama in weekend golf tournament

The fifth annual Bear Mountain Men’s Amateur in Langford went down to the wire, with Bill Quinn winning the low gross title by one stroke over Mac Keats on the first playoff hole.

Both finished with a total of 141 for the event, which was compiled during a round on the Mountain course Saturday followed by 18 holes on the Valley Course on Sunday.

John Gushue won the net event with a score of 133, while Rick Welch finished second with a score of 141.

Bear Mountain member Ray Henry won the zone 5 Super Seniors and finished third overall to qualify for the Super Seniors team.
