Two members of the Langley Rams were honoured for their outstanding efforts in week 7 of the B.C. Football Conference.
Running back Kyle Albertini carried the ball 22 times for 215 yards, an average of 9.7 yards per carry, and scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns in his team’s 49-17 victory over the Westshore Rebels on Sept. 7.
His efforts earned Albertini the offensive player of the week award.
And kicker Steve Thomas was good on all six of his convert attempts and also booted field goals of 12 and 20 yards, respectively, to earn the special teams player of the week award. He also had an 85-yard single off a kick-off and averaged 59.3 yards per kick-off. This is the second time Thomas has earned the award.
Thomas leads the league in scoring with 69 points and is tops in kick-offs, with a 59 gross yards per kick-off and 42.9 net.
He is also second in the league in punting (38.1 gross and 30.7 net).
Albertini leads the league with 60 carries for 567 yards (9.5 per carry). He also has three touchdowns.
