Red Bull announced the athlete list for the upcoming Cold Rush big mountain skiing event being held in Revelstoke from Feb. 3–6.
Revelstoke’s Chris Rubens is among the 15 men and five women who are taking part in the multi-day competition that will see skiers take part in slopestyle, big mountain and alpine touring events.

Work has begun on the slopestyle course, which is being built in Montanan Bowl in the Revelstoke Mountain Resort cat skiing terrain. Riley Leboe, one of the competitors and an experienced jump builder is leading a six-man crew to build the course. It will include man-made jumps, while also taking advantage of natural terrain features.
The course will feature eight or nine features and skiers will have to hit one feature at the top of the course, one in the middle and one at the bottom.
The venues for the big mountain competition and the alpine touring event have yet to be announced.
