This past weekend Greg Moore Raceway in Chilliwack hosted the first round of the ROK Cup Western Canada with weather that could not have been any better for the competition that took place.
With drivers like Jordan Redlin, Kris Hoffbeck, Chris Eagles, and Davey Lam on the track you are guaranteed to witness close wheel to wheel battling that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats in the ROK GP Category.
This weekend would be no different with the exception of Redlin’s blistering pace, putting him in a league of his own with a pole position and win in the Pre Final.
While Hoffbeck tried to challenge an axle shifting loose would take him out of contention of any sorts in the final as Redlin pulled away. Meanwhile Lam and Eagles would continue to put on the show that spectators are becoming used to recently. Lam, however, faltered, giving Eagles the clear air he needed to bring home a solid second place by the checkered flag while CRG West’s Redlin sits on a championship lead which is surely to be hotly contested with an Italian held world finals ticket on the line.
Redlin said, “It was a great weekend for me, perfect weather for racing and with the help of my sponsors I achieved victory. I would like to thank Fikse racing wheels, CRG West, West Coast Metal recycling, The Black Press and Screen guild signs for their support.”
The next round of the ROK CUP Western Canada will take place at GMR on May 17 and 18, when there will be finals on both Saturday and Sunday. For more information on the local ROK Cup Western Canada action visit www.rokcup.ca
