The Nanaimo Redmen were clawed by the North Surrey Bears on the weekend.
On Sunday at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park, the Vancouver Mainland Football League midget teams played a rematch of their B.C. championship game last fall. This time it was the Bears winning by a shutout score. The red team kept it close for almost two quarters before the Bears struck for two quick touchdowns before halftime to go up 21-0.
The Redmen visit the Cowichan Bulldogs this Sunday (Oct. 5).
