Revelstoke Grizzlies win two of three on the road

The Revelstoke Grizzlies snapped an four game losing streak against Kamloops last week, before splitting games on the road in 100 Mile House on the weekend.

The Grizzlies beat the Kamloops Storm 2-1 on Wednesday and followed it up with a 3-2 loss and 8-5 win against the 100 Mile House Wranglers on the weekend.

Daniel Fisher scored with 3:10 to go in the first period and Matthew Monk got the game winner with 3:42 left in the game to lead the Grizzlies to their win over the Storm.

Revelstoke outshot Kamloops 43-27 but failed to score on 13 power play opportunities, including several 5-on-3 advantages. Still, their two goals was enough for the win.

On Friday, the squad traveled to 100 Mile to face the Wranglers. The teams traded goals in the first, with Kael Norman scoring for Revelstoke. Raphael Bassot gave the Grizzlies a 2-1 lead with a second period goal, but 100 Mile scored two power play goals in the third to skate away with a 3-2 win.

The offenses exploded when the teams met again on Saturday. Tyler Chavez Leech scored on the power play 43 seconds into the game, setting the tone for the night. 100 Mile led 3-2 after the first, but Revelstoke stormed back and scored three times in the second to take a 5-3 lead going into the third. They added three more in the final frame and got on the bus home after enjoying an 8-5 win. Chavez Leech recorded a hat trick, Bassot scored twice and Michael Lenoury picked up three assists in the win.

The Grizzlies are on the road again this weekend, with a games against the Chase Heat on Saturday and the Wranglers on Sunday. Their next home game is on Friday, Nov. 11, when they host the Storm.
