Riptides know all different strokes

Nanaimo Riptides swimmers made waves at the PCS Wavemaker Invitational meet earlier this month. The local team sent a contingent to the Pacific Coast Swimming event April 30-May 1 in Victoria and returned with several top-three finishes. Results include:

Nine-and-under girls – Aileen Humphreys, third, 50-metre breaststroke, first, 100m breast; Claire Boudrot, first, 50-metre breast, second, 100m breast, third, 200m breast.

11-12-year-old boys – Reid DellaRosa, second, 50m breast, second, 200m medley relay; Liam Shoesmith, second, 200m medley relay, third, 200m backstroke; Michael Lindia, second, 200m medley relay; Morgan Humphreys, second, 200m medley relay, first, 1,500m freestyle.

11-12-year-old girls – Amanda Assen, first, 200m individual medley, second, 100m butterfly, third, 100m breast, third, 200m free, third, 50m free, third, 100m back; Kate Krynowsky, third, 1,500m free.

13-14-year-old boys – Baylee Munro, second, 200m IM, first, 50m breast, third, 50m back, second, 100m breast, second, 200m breast; Damon Pedersen, second, 200m back.

13-14-year-old girls – Taylor Snowden-Richardson, second, 200m IM, second, 100m free, third, 50m back.

15-and-over boys – Tristan Crosby, second, 50m breast.

15-and-over girls – Jane Mortlock, first, 200m IM, first, 50m breast, first, 200m fly, first, 50m fly, third, 100m fly; Brianne Binnersley, third, 50m breast; Krystina Pellegrino, third, 50m fly.
