Rivermen home opener set for Oct. 4

The Langley Rivermen’s quest for a second straight Ron Boileau Memorial Trophy as the top team in the BCHL regular season begins on Sept. 19.

The Rivermen will play the Salmon Arm Silverbacks that day at Chilliwack’s Prospera Centre as part of the Bauer BCHL Showcase to open the junior A hockey season.

The showcase sees all of the league’s 16 teams hit the ice over the weekend in one location.

Langley also plays the Victoria Grizzlies on Sept. 21.

The team’s first game on their home ice at the Langley Events Centre is not until Oct. 4 when they welcome the Nanaimo Clippers to town.

The 58-game regular season wraps up Feb. 28.
