Outlaws streak hits bump
The Rona Outlaws Bantam Lacrosse team suffered two defeats this weekend against the Kamloops Rattlers at Sunwave Centre. In the first game the previously unbeaten Outlaws lost 12-4 in a penalty-filled affair. In the second game, Shuswap suffered an 11-3 defeat when the number-one ranked Kamloops team took advantage of some defensive lapses.
Fastpitch finale
In Salmon Arm Fastpitch, the Bantam Aces defeated Enderby 13-9 over the weekend and the Midget Aces blanked Sicamous 8-0. Shylah Gibb pitched the shutout for the Midget Aces.
TED on top
In North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association’s Competitive Division, TED United dominated Game 6 against the AF Blazers on May 24 but were unable to get on the board. Goalkeeper Alyssa Wilbur gained the shutout ending the game 0-0 . Last week’s home game was a much more favourable outcome. TED versus NET Celtics was a physical game that kept TED on their toes. Natalie Smith opened the scoring from a beautiful cross by Sydney Nakazawa. That was followed by a great power shot from Krista Yonker outside the 18-yard box, giving TED a two-goal lead. During the second half TED worked hard, kept possession and ended the game with a 5-0 win over NET Celtics.
