Salty Dog calls for bike race volunteers

The Salty Dog Mountain Bike Race is upcoming on Sunday, May 15.

The Salty Pup is a one-hour enduro on a level one-kilometre single track course, for ages three-plus, no training wheels please. The Junior three-hour enduro for U15s is on a five-km course, teams of two only. This is a stepping stone to the big six-hour enduro for people who are not ready to do the main race.

The six-hour enduro is for everyone else.

Participants can enter as a team of two, or do it solos. Team categories for men’s, women’s and mixed teams and solo categories for elite/sport racers.

Meantime, the call is out for Salty Dog volunteers, both May 14 and 15. You can be part of Salmon Arms’ largest mountain bike event, and second biggest in BC.

Organizers need help with course marshalling, parking patrol, start/finish, set up, tear down, pre-ride/post ride lap, start area marshalling, package pick up and timing people.

Volunteers to receive a lunch, Salty Dog volunteer T-shirt and more. Go to http://www.skookumcycle.com/salty_dog.
