Sardis skater flies to first at short-track championships

Clara Johnson finished first in four distances at last weekend's short-track provincial speed-skating championships.

Clara Johnson blew away the competition, winning four races and a provincial championship in Abbotsford last weekend.

Sardis Flier speed-skating ace Clara Johnson captured a B.C. championship last weekend.

Short-track provincials were hosted by the Mission Speed Racer Club at the Abbotsford Centre Arena, with Johnson competing in the Female 11 division.

The Sardis elementary schools student finished first in four distances, the 200, 400, 1500 and 3000 metre.

More than 200 skaters attended the meet.
