Sato Cup produces Chilliwack Grand Champion

Clint Istace won three gold and a bronze, plus a big trophy at the annual karate tournament held on the BCIT Burnaby campus.

Chilliwack’s Clint Istace won four medals and was named Grand Champion at the 2016 Sato Cup karate tournament, held Nov. 12 at BCIT.

Istace won gold in Kata (forms), gold in  Masters Kata, gold in Masters Kumite (sparring) and bronze in Weapons.

Istace represented Chilliwack’s Chito-Ryu Karate Club.

Teammate Jason Horton was runner-up in the Masters Kumite competition.

Paula Cook competed in the 14-15 year old girls white/yellow belt division, winning gold in Kata.
