Scarrow, Case shoot lowest

108 Ladies Club members slap on different shoes, crazy hats

Thirty-two players, some in wacky attire, went for closest to the pin and longest drives, while recording the best low scores, during a cold but sunny 108 Ladies Club round at the 108 Golf Resort on Sept. 9.

Judy Scarrow, with a birdie on her scorecard, shot lowest gross in the first flight, followed by Deb Case.

Char Wahnschaff and Joanne Garrow shot lowest net in the first flight.

The second flight saw Julietta Morete fire low gross, followed by Carol Lidstone.

Maureen Pinkney was the lowest-net shooter in the second flight, with Shannon Knapp in second.

Eileen King and Sharon Thompson were the lowest gross shooters in the third flight.

Laverne Martin and Angela Batahla shot lowest net scores in the third flight.

“The wine challenge was ‘different shoes’,” explains Thompson. “And we also picked up extra points from last week’s [wine challenge] when we were rained out, which was ‘crazy hat’. So we did see some very crazy hats and different shoes. Next week’s wine challenge is ‘fashion faux-pas’. That could be fun!”

Scarrow, on No. 5, fired closest to the pin. Pinkney, on No. 3, got her shot closest. King shot closest to the pin on No. 4.

Heather Matsuda punched the longest drive on No. 6. Pinkney hit long on No. 2. Wendy Foster hit the longest drive on No. 1.
