Monday evening men: Steve Clement defeated Dale Abrey, Don Lawrence defeated Stan Green, Mike Rudniski defeated The Keens, Rob Robinson defeated Rick Drewnisz.

Tuesday morning mixed: Jules Dore defeated Barb Ezart, Bob Ezart defeated John Nicolson, Hector Cartier defeated Jerry Lidin, Marilyn Cahoon defeated Bill Moffat.

Summerland

Men’s Bonspiel

The Summerland Men’s Bonspiel was held this past weekend.

A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament, playing a four square format.

There were two teams from Kelowna, one from Osoyoos, three from Penticton and 10 from Summerland.

Coordinators were Rick Drewnisz and Ken Rae. John Gregg and Blake Lynch-Staunton cooked the steaks. Many volunteers also assisted.

Ice techs were Gord and Cliff White.

The Summerland Golf and Country Club and Cannery Brewery provided sponsorship.

A Winners: From Summerland, Skip Dale Abrey, third Wylie Eden, second Tyler Jaeger, lead Art Lappalainen. Runners up from Penticton skip Chris Cottrill , third Brad Sullivan, second Jason Larence, lead Paul Brisson.

B Winners: From Summerland Skip Steve Clement, third Glen Brennan, second Corbin Clement, lead Brian Hodgson. Runner up from Kelowna Skip Ken Johnson, third Justin Nillson, second Gary Wilson, lead Tim Zacher.

C Winners: From Kelowna Skip Garry Gelowitz, third Cy Gladish, second Craig McLoad, lead Grant Snow. Runner up from Penticton Skip Daryl Tarr, third Daryl Moore, second Vern Shelby, lead Gord Mitchell.

D Winners: From Summerland Skip Gary Raymond, third Armond Houle, second Larry Harder, lead Steve Woods. Runners up from Summerland Skip Louie Costa, third Mike Rudniski, second Cliff Last, lead Steve Clarke.

Junior curling is Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. after school.

Tip of the week: It is against the rules, to use any device during an end to measure rocks. After all eight stones are thrown, the stones closest to the centre of button score, no stones are moved until the thirds decide the score. The thirds do any measuring and the team winning the end, marks the score.
