Some of the region’s top weightlifters will be returning to the Semiahmoo Peninsula this weekend for one of province’s longest-running weightlifting competitions.
This Saturday and Sunday, the Semi Weightlifting Club will host its annual Sea Festival Open, a nationally accredited event now entering its 42nd year, according to organizers.
On Saturday, the competition begins at 11 a.m., with the final group of the day– the men’s 77-kg division – scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
On Sunday, lifting begins at 10 a.m. and wraps up at 2:30 p.m.
More than 100 lifters of varying ages and skill levels are set to take part.
