The Trinity Western Spartans men’s basketball closed the home portion of their season on a positive note, beating the Winnipeg Wesmen 97-84.
Denny McDonald had a career-high 33 points and 10 rebounds for TWU.
The Wesmen had won the previous night, 93-76, with both games at the Langley Events Centre.
The split leaves the Spartans with a 2-16 record as they close out the season this weekend in Victoria.
The Spartans women’s team fell to 4-14 after losing 90-80 and 85-72 to Winnipeg.
In the first game, a pair of former Brookswood Bobcats both had career-highs for the Spartans as Jessie Brown scored 27 points while Luca Schmidt had 10 assists.
TWU closes the season in Victoria.
