The senior B Nanaimo Timbermen had one comeback in them, but not two.
The city’s West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association squad fell 12-8 to the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday at Frank Crane Arena.
The home team fell behind 7-3 against the former Tri-City Bandits early in the second period of Saturday’s tilt, but managed to tie it back up at 8-8 going into the second intermission. The visitors scored in the first minute of the third, though, and took control from there.
Corey Shires scored two goals and two assists to lead Nanaimo’s offence, and Erik Klein also had a pair of goals. Jon Diplock had a goal and two assists and Tim Manson, Andrew Miller and Brett Fleming were the other scorers for the T-men.
GAME ON … The Timbermen will have a break for the May long weekend and will return to action May 26 on the road against the Victoria Wolves. The next home game for the team is May 29 against the Langley Warriors.
