The senior B Timbermen finished all their regular-season games, and now they’ll play the waiting game.
The city’s West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association team wrapped up its schedule with two games on the weekend, a 9-8 win against the Ladner Pioneers at Frank Crane Arena on Saturday and then a 14-9 loss to the Coquitlam Adanacs on Sunday on the road.
Corey Shires scored a hat trick and Mitch Parker added a pair in the win, with Andrew Miller, Shawn Swanson, Travis Mickelson and Aaron Vanderhorst also scoring. Danny Walters the winning goalie. In the loss, Brendon Anger scored four goals for the T-men, Miller had two and Jon Diplock, Derek McLeod and Brent Holness were other scorers. Walters and Matt Zeller shared time in the crease.
Nanaimo (9-4-0-1) will finish either second or third, depending on the outcome of a game Tuesday (July 12) between the first-place Langley Warriors and the third-place Pioneers. The T-men would receive a first-round bye if they finish second; otherwise, they play the Victoria Wolves in a best-of-three series.
