Vernon Fix Auto Vipers dropped both of their games Friday on the opening day of a Tier 2 Bantam hockey tournament in Kelowna.
The Winfield Bruins scored six times in the first period and coasted to a 13-2 win over the Vipers in the opening game for both teams.
Sean Howard, returning from an injury, scored both goals for Vernon with Lucas Halvorson, Dayton Bryan and Tanner Wright drawing assists.
In their second contest, the Vipers fell behind 5-0 after two periods and dropped a 7-3 decision to the host Kelowna squad.
Zach Agar, Wright and Bryan scored in the final frame for the Vipers, assists going to Lincoln Connor, Agar and Bryan.
Missing seven regulars, the Vipers called up affiliated players Braydie Allan-Webber, Caedon Bellmann and Jacob Brewer for action Friday.
