Silvertips outduelled by rival Royals

Nanaimo's B.C. Major Midget League hockey team played a home-and-home series against the South Island Royals on Saturday and Sunday.

The North Island Silvertips were able to take one point from their Island rivals on the weekend.

Nanaimo’s B.C. Major Midget League hockey team played a home-and-home series against the South Island Royals on Saturday and Sunday. The Victoria team won the first game 5-3 down the Malahat, and the next day at the Nanaimo Ice Centre the teams tied 3-3.

On Saturday it was Curtis McCarrick scoring two goals for the ‘Tips and Patrick Bajkov tallying the other. On Sunday Hunter Findlater scored a pair and Dayton Boutilier also scored.

GAME ON … The Silvertips (4-3-1) host the Cariboo Cougars (8-2) on Saturday (Oct. 27) and Sunday at the NIC. Saturday’s game is a 5:15 p.m. faceoff and Sunday’s rematch goes at 10:30 a.m.
