The third annual “Abbotsford Blitz” skateboard competition is being held on Aug. 23 at McMillan Youth Park.
The event, organized by Play4Life with the help of Replay Board Shop, will run from noon until 5 p.m., and includes a free barbecue from 2 to 3 p.m.
Registration will begin on-site at 11 a.m. in the beginner, intermediate, advanced and sponsored categories. Participants of all ages are welcome to compete to win a $1,000 cash prize or merchandise, depending on the division.
Registration fees will go towards assisting local youth to attend skateboard camps, and to Food For The Hungry to support at-risk children in Southeast Asia.
