Spartans’ Inglis sets meet record, Linde wins three gold

Seven gold and two bronze for Trinity Western track and field athletes at weekend meet in Bellingham

Trinity Western Spartans Sarah Inglis set a new meet record on her way to winning the gold medal at Western Washington University’s Ralph Vernacchai meet on Saturday at Bellingham’s Civic Stadium.

Inglis won the mile event in 4:46.09.

This was one of seven gold medals won by Spartan track and field athletes at the meet.

James Linde won three of those golds, taking top spot in the 100m (10.84), the 200m (21.85) and the long jump (6.87m).

Joel de Schiffert won the mile (4:12.73) and Calum Innes (100m, 14.61) and Nathan Dunford (pole vault, 4.73m) were the other gold medallists.

Ivonne Zuniga won bronze in the pole vault (3.10m) and Levi Neufeld took bronze in the mile (4:15.39).
