Spartans land new coach

Aaron Muhic will take over reigns of Trinity Western Spartans men's basketball program following this season

Aaron Muhic has been tabbed as the next head coach of the Trinity Western Spartans men’s basketball team.

Muhic will replace Scott Allen, who announced he is stepping down following the 2014/15 season.

Muhic, who is from Sacramento, Calif., has more than 21 years of experience as a university head coach and instructor.

He is in the top 25 for all-time NAIA wins among active coaches. He recently spent 13 seasons as the head coach of William Jessup University, an NAIA school in Rocklin, Calif., where he accumulated 173 wins.

He stepped down from that post in April 2013 and is currently serving as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Sierra College.
