Top dog in BCHL
Penticton’s Lars Hepso is the BCHL’s first Player of the Week. The league reported the news on its website that the Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward received the nod after tallying six points in an 8-7 overtime win against the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Hepso netted a hat trick and added three assists.
Driver earns third
Penticton’s Brian Poppe placed third with his results from the Gord Mannes Memorial race in Penticton and the Reg Midgley Memorial Canada 200 event in Victoria. Poppe placed fourth and fifth in Penticton. Making his racing debut in Victoria, Poppe placed fourth and eighth. Both events are part of the Street Stock Driver Challenge Championship.
