Boehmer gets camp invite

Isaac Boehmer of Okanagan Falls has been invited for the first part of BC Soccer’s new High Performance Programming. The program will continue to be based around the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League Schedule and will have boys and girls in the 1999-2001 birth years with 24 male and female players per age group. The 2002 group will consist of 36 male and female players.

“We are very excited to announce all of the selections for the BC Soccer HPP and we want to congratulate all of the players for their incredible hard work and dedication they have put in over the past years,” said Luca Dalla Pace, BC Soccer High Performance officer. “Selecting the players is never an easy task and a lot of factors come into play including positional specific needs so we also want to thank the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League clubs and coaches as well as the HPP coaching staff for all of their contributions.”

Boehmer, who plays for the Thompson Okanagan Football Club, has been working with the Pinnacles Football Club goalkeeping staff over the past few months and this winter to help him prepare for a new season.

Mt. Baldy ready to welcome skiers

Mount Baldy will open to the general public on Friday.

With a new operator in place, the ski hill is now set to welcome back guests after not opening for the 2014 season due to financial difficulties. Tickets go on sale Friday at 9:30 a.m. More details are available at www.skibaldy.com, including pricing. Residents of the village area were invited for an unofficial opening last Sunday.

A group of Calgary-based investors formed the Baldy Capital Corporation in December to operate the hill and eventually purchase it out of receivership, a court-supervised process expected to take several months.

The resort is located about 35 kilometres east of Oliver.
