Gold medals from Jaclyn Regier and Brittnee Ho highlighted the medal haul for the Abbotsford Skating Club at the Victoria Day competition in Surrey last week.
Regier won the silver interpretive division, while Ho finished atop the pre-preliminary ladies class. Silver medallists from the local club included Tyler Miller (novice men’s short and long programs), Megan Geddes (pre-introductory interpretive), Makela Viger (introductory interpretive) and Emma Harley (performance ladies). Bronze medal winners were Rory Carlton (junior men’s short), Kate Thompson (performance ladies) and Emily Haw (performance ladies).
BRONZE FOR OUTLAWS
The Abbotsford Outlaws 95/96 girls rep B fastpitch team brought home a bronze medal from a tournament in Newton last week.
The Outlaws clinched the medal with a victory over Force ’95 of Surrey. Round robin MVP awards went to Katherine Murnaghan, Natalie Uotuk, Chelsea Skerlak and Marissa Barber.
BEARCATS HOST V-BALL CAMPS
The Columbia Bible College Bearcats are hosting a pair of volleyball camps this summer.
The Bearcats girls camp, for athletes going into grades 7-12, runs Aug. 22-26. CBC volleyball coaches Duncan Harrison and Rocky Olfert will serve as lead instructors, and cost is $110.
The boys camp, for athletes going into Grades 8-12, is set for Aug. 29-Sept. 1. Olfert will lead the sessions, and the cost is $100.

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS AT UFV
The University of the Fraser Valley athletic department is offering a series of sport-specific summer camps in July and August.
The Cascades camps will be led by members of the varsity coaching staffs and UFV athletes, and the dates are as follows:
• Boys basketball, Aug. 15-19
• Girls soccer, Aug. 8-12
• Boys and girls rowing, July 11-15 and July 18-22
• Girls volleyball, Aug. 8-11
• Boys volleyball, Aug. 22-25
