On Friday, Summerland hosted the Kelowna Chiefs, playing to a 6-1 win.

The Summerland Steam dominated the game.

At 10:18 in the first period, Paulsen Lautard scored for the Steam, assisted by Lathan McKinney and Jacob Mullen.

A power play goal by Jack Mills at 5:44 secured the Steam’s lead. Lautard and Josh Pilon assisted.

In the second period, Lautard scored on a power play at 10:03, assisted by Pilon and Mills.

Braden Eliuk added an unassisted goal at 9:09.

In the third period, Riley Pettitt scored from Pilon and Cody Egilson at 17:44.

Jarrett Malchow then scored at 12:09, assisted by Wyatt Gale and Cole Williams.

The sole Kelowna goal came on a power play at 6:33.

On Sunday, the Steam faced the Grand Forks Border Bruins, playing to a 5-2 win.

Summerland opened scoring with a goal by Lautard at 4:47 in the first period. Pilon and Mills assisted.

In the second period, Mills scored on a power play at 15:43, assisted by Lautard and Pilon.

Matthew Monk scored at 14:34, assisted by Adam Jones and Pettitt.

After a Grand Forks goal, Malchow scored for the Steam at 9:15, assisted by Gale and Williams.

In the third period, a late power play goal by the Border Bruins narrowed the gap.

The final goal came at 1:49 when Alex Williams scored, assisted by Egilson and Pettitt.

The Steam also faced the North Okanagan Knights on Tuesday evening, but results of that game were not available at press time.

The next action for the Steam is on Saturday, Nov. 28 against the Osoyoos Coyotes in Osoyoos.

At present, the Steam are in second place in the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference: Okanagan Division of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
