Steam lose two games

The Summerland Steam played two games over the past week, losing both.

On Feb. 10, the Steam hosted the Penticton Lakers to a 4-2 loss.

The Lakers opened scoring with two goals, the first on a power play, in the first period.

A goal in the second period, again on a power play, sealed the lead for the Lakers.

Summerland’s first goal game at 2:20 when Jordan McCallum scored on a power play, with assists by Steve Semenoff and Doug Chadwick.

In the third period, Kendell Wilson scored with the assist by Brock McDonald.

A Penticton power play goal ended the game.

On Sunday, the Steam traveled to Revelstoke to face the Grizzlies in a 6-2 loss.

Revelstoke dominated the first period with two goals, the first on a power play.

The Grizzlies added three more unanswered goals in the second period.

In the third period, Chadwick scored at 15:13 with the assist by Taylor Jordan.

The Grizzlies then responded with their sixth goal.

Summerland’s final goal came at 7:18 when Nelson Bowman scored, assisted by Josh DaCosta and Taylor Jordan.

The Steam have 13 wins, 34 losses and two overtime losses for the fifth-place spot in the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference: Okanagan Division of the KootenayInternational Junior Hockey League.

This is the first season for the Steam.
