Nanoose Bay’s Michelle Stilwell won almost all her races at two meets in Switzerland the past two weeks, and she’s only getting faster.
The wheelchair racer won the 100-metre and 200m sprints at the Swiss nationals in Pratteln May 28-29, then won the 100m at a meet in Muttenz on June 2.
She crossed the line in the 100m in 20.72 seconds at the national race, then finished in 19.64 in her next 100m final. Her world-record time is 19.52.
Stilwell has achieved International Paralympic Committee standards for qualification for the 2012 Summer Olympics, but Team Canada’s standards haven’t yet been determined.
