Competing against more than 900 gymnasts from around the province, the Langley Gymnastics Foundation had a strong showing.
The club was competing at the B.C. gymnastics championships, which were held at the Langley Events Centre April 15 to 17.
The meet was hosted by Langley’s Flip City Gymnastics and Gymnastics BC.
In addition to dozens of podium finishes, several of the LGF athletes qualified for the western Canadian championships or named to the B.C. team for nationals.
Alexa Slipec, Amelia Van Andel, Kennedy Duke, Sage Bishop-Beaurone, Haley Biggin, Paula Urquidi, Emilie Hong, and Cathy Zhong qualified for westerns.
Haley Biggin, Paula Urquidi, Emilie Hong, Cathy Zhong, Angel Zhong, Tyler Welch, Victor Blaine, Brandon Macdonald were named to the team for nationals. Nicolas Cruz will also attend nationals in the novice category.

In the team competition, LGF was first in the JO 10 level and second in both the JO 7 and JO 8 levels.
And in the men’s artistic gymnastics, several LGF athletes found the podium.
