Tennis players make most of Last Chance

NANAIMO – The Westwood Tennis Club filled their bubble with fast-paced action at the Last Chance Tournament this past weekend.

The Westwood Tennis Club filled their bubble with fast-paced action at the Last Chance Tournament this past weekend.

Holly Calvin and Vera Butakova teamed up to win the women’s A doubles final over Nanaimo’s Glenys Wall and a Shawnigan Lake partner.

Calvin also reached the final in the A singles event, won by Victoria’s Karen Clarke.

Nick O’Callaghan and Greg Wall placed second in men’s A singles.

Butakova defeated a Campbell River opponent to win women’s B singles.

The men’s B doubles title was earned by Rick Rhodes and Gaeten Brousseau, and Darlene Dorman and Karen Martin teamed up to win the the ladies’ B doubles title.
