Warm weather greeted the start of the B.C. Premier Baseball League season on Saturday (April 7).

The teams split the doubleheader as the Mariners won 3-2 and lost 8-3.

The Victoria Eagles fared better, sweeping the Parksville Royals 5-4 and 8-2 at Lambrick Park on Saturday.

The Eagles visit Nanaimo this on Saturday (April 14) while the Mariners visit the North Shore Twins.
