The Strathcona Triathlon club, in conjunction with Campbell River Recreation and Culture department, offered a four week Introduction to Triathlon camp for youth (KOS – Kids of Steel). The camp was supported by a generous donation from the Knights of Columbus making the camp $10 for four sessions. Over the four weeks the kids ages 5 – 12 learned safe bike riding skills; how to fuel up for fitness; how to transition from swim to bike and bike to run and how to put it all together in a mini triathlon on the last night. Pictured above are the participants celebrating at the final session, back row left, Lance Bennett (coach), Jim Linton (Knights of Columbus).
