Thunder Cats off to quick start

Creston Valley Thunder Cats win every game so far this season.

Grant Iles scored the game’s only goal on Friday as the Creston Valley Thunder Cats opened the season with a 1-0 shutout victory against the Columbia Valley Rockies.

Creston dominated the game, outshooting the Rockies 22-6 in the first period and 49-30 in total. Brock Lefebvre registered the shutout with a solid game in net in the road game.

Lefebvre extended his shutout streak to 120 minutes in Saturday night’s home win against the Golden Rockets.

Liam Plunkett’s goal put the Cats up 1-0 after one period, and Sebastian Kilcommons and Iles added second frame scores for the home side. A power play marker by Jake Livingstone iced the game in the third period.

The Thunder Cats once again dominated, outshooting Columbia Valley 38-19.

Creston is back in action with two home games this weekend. They host the Fernie Ghostriders on Friday night and Saturday will see a return match with the Rockies. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
