The University of the Fraser Valley athletic department is gearing up to launch Volleyfest, an outdoor volleyball tournament which will run next month at Exhibition Park.
Volleyfest is an opportunity for players of many different ages and skill levels to come out and compete. The tourney runs Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will be divided into three coed youth divisions (13/14U, 15/16U and 17/18U) and two coed adult divisions (recreational and competitive). Games will be played on grass courts with teams of six players per side.
The cost per team is $125 before Aug. 1, and $150 thereafter until registration closes on Aug. 27. Registration can be completed online at ufvcascades.ca.
UFV Athletics is partnering with the Abbotsford Food Bank and Volleyball BC on the event, and will be donating half of all registration fee revenue to the Food Bank’s All Kids Play Sports fund which helps organize and subsidize sports camps for local children.
