The University of the Fraser Valley women’s basketball team moved up to No. 3 in the latest Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) rankings released Tuesday.
The Cascades, who opened at No. 4 in the national poll, began the regular season with dominant home-court wins over Lethbridge (70-32) and Calgary (60-36) last weekend. They benefitted from the Alberta Pandas’ surprising loss at Thompson Rivers University on Saturday, leapfrogging the former No. 2 squad in the new rankings while picking up 10 first-place votes.
