The PacWest’s two unbeaten basketball teams tip off this week in Nanaimo.
The VIU Mariners host the Quest Kermodes on Saturday (Nov. 21) in men’s hoops action. The day before, another top team, the Langara Falcons, visits.
“This will be a tough weekend, probably the toughest weekend of our first semester here and a nice way to close out the first portion of the season,” said Matt Kuzminski, M’s coach.
He said Quest is a veteran team that has won some tough games, while Langara is young but talented and always well-coached.
“If we play our game and we play together and excited, I feel very confident that we can win those games,” Kuzminski said.
GAME ON … VIU takes on Langara at 8 p.m. Friday at the Vancouver Island University gym after the women’s game at 6 p.m. Saturday’s games against Quest are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
