Boston Pizza is hosting a fund-raiser Monday night for Vernon golfing prospect Ryan Vest

Boston Pizza is hosting a fund-raiser Monday night for Vernon golfing prospect Ryan Vest.

Vest, who turns eight on Wednesday, qualified for the U.S. Kids World Championship July 31-August 2, in Pinehurst, N.C.

“I am very excited,” said Vest. “I just want to golf, I love it.”

The little man of few words has been putting in the front yard with his dad and practising at Predator Ridge.

His father, Jeff, is Ryan’s caddy.

“It’s great. I help pick the clubs for him and just let him go and see what he can do,” said Jeff.

The fundraiser goes from 4 p.m. until closing with a silent auction for three rounds at Predator Ridge with former LPGA pro A.J. Eathorne.

There will be a raffle with prizes including four rounds at Vernon Golf and Country Club, one-night stay at Sparkling Hill Resort and a house boating trip in the Shuswap.

Raffle tickets can be purchased anytime until Monday night at Boston Pizza with all proceeds from the auction and raffle going towards Vest’s golf trip.

Vest will head back to the U.S. for the Seaview Open Aug. 30-31, at Seaview Golf Resort in Galloway, N.J.
