A golfer from Gorge Vale won the Nanaimo Men’s Amateur.
Phil Kondrak of Victoria was low gross winner at the three-day tournament last week at the Nanaimo Golf Club. He shot a 215, two strokes better than Greggory Palmer of Pheasant Glen.
Local player Ross Angelucci was the low net winner with an adjusted score of 211. The Nanaimo Golf Club’s Werner Windbiel also shot a 211 low net.
In A flight, Al Jensen of the Nanaimo Golf Club won in low gross, with Thomas Spencer of Vancouver Island University second. In low net, Ron Berry and Mike Biggs, both of Nanaimo, were first and second, respectively.
Winning B flight low gross was Ed Goncalves of Nanaimo, with Cody Dreger, also of NGC, in second. In low net, Nanaimo’s Tim Dielmen beat out Victoria’s Phil Williams.
Bowen Island’s Larry Oliver won C flight low gross ahead of runner-up Mike Crouse of Kings Links. Belmont’s Michael Cafe won low net with Dean Kaardal of Beachgrove in second.
Terry Argotow of the B.C. Players won D flight low gross ahead of Nanaimo’s Andy Vanger. In low net, Brian Ranger and Darrel Salsbury, both of NGC, were first and second.
