The Campbell River Storm’s VIJHL playoff series against the Saanich Braves is knotted at two going into tonight’s Game 3.
The Storm opened the series on Tuesday with a 5-2 victory at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena. Campbell River “Stormed” into the lead with three unanswered goals in the first period by Alex Rosolowsky, Josh Coblenz and Austin Steger, followed by a fourth by Rosolowsky in the second and the fifth in the third by Trevor Bottomley.
The Braves got on the scoresheet in the third period with two power play goals, but were unable to make up enough ground to overcome the early-game dominance of the home team.
On Wednesday’s Game two at George Pearkes Arena, the Braves opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the first but Dylan McCann’s unassisted goal at 6:56 in the second tied it up. The Braves then went on the power play and scored the winning goal at 13:21.
Game 3 goes Friday at the Brindy at 7:30 p.m. with game four back down Island in Saanich on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
