Belmont secondary’s senior girls volleyball team takes a 2-2 round robin match record into the third week of play Oct. 21 in the South Island high school league’s Vic Lindal Division.
The Bulldogs, currently sitting second in the B pool behind 4-0 Oak Bay, has posted straight-set wins (2-0) over Claremont and Glenlyon Norfolk House. Belmont lost a narrow three-set decision to Claremont and a straight-set match to Oak Bay.
Having played at Belmont Oct. 7 and Claremont this past Tuesday, the four teams return to Claremont for a series of matches next week that determine seedings for the second round of play, which starts Oct. 28.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs senior boys sat in the middle of the city league pack with a 8-8 games record after yesterday’s play day at Lambrick Park secondary.
The boys were coming off a week that saw them win two against Lambrick, split against Oak Bay and lose two narrow decisions against Reynolds.
The AAA Lower Island boys playoffs happen Nov. 3 and 5. The top two finishing teams from league play receive first-round byes and automatic berths into the Island championships Nov. 14-15 at Dover Bay in Nanaimo.
