Under-16 side posts come from behind win over Cowichan

Cowichan broke a couple of big plays in the first half to take the lead, but the Westshore RFC under-16s rallied for a 27-14 victory in Island rugby play at the Juan de Fuca fields on Sunday.

The visitors jumped out to a 14-10 advantage by the break. But a concerted Westshore attack saw them score three straight tries in the second half, not to mention withstanding a couple of late pushes into the Westshore end by Cowichan, as the locals rolled to the win. Westshore now sits 1-1 in league play.

Scoring for the winners were Aaron Apolinaro, with two tries and a kicked convert, and Gavin Kilpatrick and Noah Thomas, with one try each.
