The White Rock All-Stars are one win away from representing Canada at the Little League World Series, as they play for the national title today (Sunday) in Nepean, Ont.
The squad, made up of Peninsula 12-year-olds, earned a spot in the Canadian Little League Championships after soundly defeating the Glace Bay McDonalds Colonels Saturday afternoon by a score of 11-1.
Should the White Rock team win Sunday’s final against the East Nepean Eagles – set to get underway at 10 a.m. – they will board a bus heading south to Williamsport, Pa. for the Little League World Series, which gets underway Thursday.
White Rock has twice represented Canada in Williamsport, in 2007 and 2008.
