Practices for the Houston Minor Softball divisions are Mondays and Wednesday for mixed eight to 10 years from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and 14 years to 18 years from 7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays mixed 11 to 13 years practice 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Four Seasons baseball fields. Houston secondary girls soccer team showcase the new jerseys they bought, which they get to keep at the end of the season. “The girls wanted their own jerseys,” said Cheryl Becker, coach of the Houston Secondary School girls soccer team. “We purchased them from Smokescreen [in Smithers].” The Houston Secondary girls first soccer game will be on May. 12 in Kitimat which will determine their placement in zones. “We haven’t had much time to practice on the field, as the conditions have not been great. There seems to be the same issue in Smithers,” said Becker. She added that the team is looking forward to the tournament.
