The Chilliwack Curling Club fired up their plant on Monday, preparing for the imminent start of the season.
The club gets things rolling with an open house Sept. 9.
From 1 to 4 p.m., anyone wanting to try the sport can give it a whirl free of charge.
CCC’s annual Learn to Curl clinic runs Sept. 11-13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at a cost of $20, tax included.
CCC is offering something new this fall, an adult Getting Started in Curling league. Developed by John Morris (Kevin Martens’ third), it’s a comprehensive 20 week program with a low student-to-paid-instructor ratio.
It involves a step-by-step 10 week instructional program followed by 10 weeks of games at a cost of $250, taxes in. The Ottawa Curling Club started the same program two years ago and now has a three year waiting list. CCC plans to launch their new program in late September.
